Malaysia Airlines Debuts Direct Da Nang Service, Bridging Kuala Lumpur to Vietnam’s Scenic Wonders

Malaysia Airlines joyously marked the commencement of its first direct service to Da Nang, Vietnam, on September 24, enhancing connectivity from its Kuala Lumpur base. This new route invites travelers to discover Da Nang’s breathtaking mountains and notable landmarks with flights departing daily.

Flight MH748 took off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 (KUL) to Da Nang International Airport (DAD) at 08:35 AM local time, amid colorful celebrations. To celebrate the launch, each traveler received a special postcard designed in partnership with photographer Acacia Diana, capturing Da Nang’s picturesque beauty. The Boeing 737-800, carrying 155 passengers—12 in Business Class and 143 in Economy—operated this inaugural journey.

Upon landing in Da Nang at 10:25 AM local time, a festive reception awaited the passengers, signifying the strengthened ties between Malaysia and Vietnam. The return leg, MH749, left Da Nang at 11:25 AM and arrived in Kuala Lumpur at 3:20 PM local time.

Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi, Chief Executive Officer of Airlines from Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), expressed his enthusiasm for the new route: “We are delighted to have launched our inaugural flight to Da Nang, achieving an impressive load factor of 90 percent, reflecting strong demand for travel to this beautiful city and symbolising another significant step in our commitment to being the carrier of choice for travellers. This new service marks our third destination to Vietnam, not only enhancing connectivity but also opening doors for our passengers to immerse themselves in the natural beauty and cultural richness of Da Nang, establishing the airline as the gateway to Asia and beyond.”
