Malaysia Airlines has launched an exciting collaboration with football giant Manchester United, unveiling a co-branded aircraft livery on its flagship A330-300. This partnership, which spans multiple countries including Malaysia, UK, Indonesia, India, China, Australia, New Zealand, and Thailand, symbolizes the union of aviation and sports, blending Malaysia’s national pride with Manchester United’s global sporting prestige. Through this strategic alliance, Malaysia Airlines aims to enhance its brand presence, offer exclusive travel perks to Manchester United’s extensive fanbase, and foster a stronger connection with global travelers, all while showcasing its signature Malaysian Hospitality.

Malaysia Airlines has revealed a co-branded aircraft livery in collaboration with football powerhouse Manchester United. The new design, showcased on the airline’s flagship A330-300, seamlessly integrates the national pride of Malaysia with Manchester United’s global reputation in sports.

The striking livery features dynamic red lines that transition from the Malaysian flag into the iconic red of Manchester United, symbolizing the unity, strength, and harmony between the worlds of aviation and sports—two universal forces that inspire and connect people around the globe.

The launch event, held on 18 April, was graced by Manchester United legends Dimitar Berbatov, Nemanja Vidić, and Luís Nani at the MATTA Fair. Fans had the chance to meet the football stars during public sessions at the MAG Arena in MITEC, Kuala Lumpur.

This unveiling is part of a strategic, long-term partnership between Malaysia Airlines and Manchester United, announced in March 2024. The collaboration allows Malaysia Airlines to extend its famed Malaysian Hospitality to the club’s 1.1 billion-strong global fanbase. By leveraging co-branded marketing efforts, the partnership aims to enhance global brand awareness while offering top-notch services and unforgettable experiences for fans of both brands.

Malaysia Airlines has also confirmed its official partnership with the upcoming Post-Season Tour in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. As part of the collaboration, Manchester United Maybank debit and credit cardholders can enjoy a 15% discount on bookings made by 31 August 2025, valid through 30 September 2025.

In conjunction with the upcoming friendly matches in Kuala Lumpur on 28 May and Hong Kong on 30 May, Malaysia Airlines will be flying the Manchester United team from Manchester to both destinations. The airline’s promotional offer will extend to Asia-Pacific fans, potentially driving a surge in local tourism to Malaysia.

Aside from unveiling the aircraft livery, the airline announced the return of flights to Brisbane, with direct services to Queensland starting on 29 November 2025. Malaysia Airlines is also increasing flight frequencies across its Asia Pacific network, including expanded services to cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Surabaya, Phuket, and Trivandrum.

Additionally, Malaysia Airlines previewed its new lie-flat Business Class seats for the Boeing 737-10, marking a first for its narrowbody fleet. This comes as part of its ambitious plan to operate 55 Boeing 737-8 and 737-10 aircraft by 2030.

Part of the airline’s ongoing collaboration with Google also took place at this year’s MATTA Fair, building on the success of last year’s event. Attendees had access to Google Gemini’s innovative AI tools, including the Trip Itinerary Builder and AI-powered Image Generator, which allowed them to create personalized travel itineraries and visualize their dream destinations. The event also introduced the new “Image-to-Video” feature, Veo2, transforming static travel photos into engaging video memories, further enhancing the experience for visitors.
