The 14th installment of the MyCSR program, titled “Ramadhan Rays of Care,” concluded with a heartfelt initiative at the National Cancer Institute, orchestrated by Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), an agency affiliated with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture Malaysia. This event served as a poignant expression of empathy and solidarity during the sacred observance of Ramadan.

This event marked a notable stride in MyCEB’s continual commitment to community engagement, aiming to boost the spirits of both cancer patients and medical staff at the institute, all the while nurturing a feeling of unity and assistance within the wider community. As part of the visit, 13 officers from MyCEB distributed gift hampers filled with wholesome snacks to 100 patients and 30 medical practitioners.

“As we conclude the first to many more impactful editions of MyCSR initiatives in 2024, we are
deeply moved by the spirit of compassion and solidarity exhibited during this heartwarming
event. At MyCEB, we remain committed to our ethos of community engagement, striving to
uplift the spirits of those in need and foster a sense of togetherness within our society. This
humbling experience has reminded us how fortunate we are to be well and abled, as
compared to patients here who are fighting one of life’s toughest battles,” said the Chief
Executive Officer of MyCEB, Mr. Azman Haji Tambi Chik

He continued, “We are here to show our support, physically and mentally to let them know that
they do not walk alone in this journey. Additionally, we are also here to show appreciation and
gratitude to the medical professionals who tirelessly dedicate their lives to saving people.
Words cannot explain how noble they are in their commitment”.

This initiative aligns seamlessly with MyCEB’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices, reflecting the Bureau’s intention to make a positive, lasting difference in the lives of cancer patients and healthcare professionals at the National Cancer Institute. In addition to material contributions, the team dedicated time to interact with patients and staff, gaining insight into their experiences during the visit.

Since its inception in 2018, the MyCSR program has touched the lives of 395 individuals. Through this program, MyCEB has committed to dedicating 4 hours annually to corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. Moving forward, the Bureau plans to undertake further initiatives with measurable outcomes, reaffirming its steadfast dedication to creating enduring social impact.

Encik Azman Haji Tambi Chik, CEO of MyCEB closes the first chapter of MyCEB’s 2024
CSR initiative, “The MyCSR Ramadhan Rays of Care visit today not only underscores our
unwavering support for cancer patients and healthcare professionals but also serves as a
profound reminder of the significant impact we can make when we come together as a
community.”
