Maldivian Unveils Maiden Flight to Bengaluru

The national airline of the Maldives, Maldivian, has revealed its plans to initiate new flights to Bangalore, India. The airline will begin operating two weekly flights on every Monday and Thursday as of October 30th, 2023, using its Airbus A320 fleet. At 9:35 a.m., the Male-Bengaluru flight will depart Velana International Airport and arrive at KIA at 12:15. At 13:15, the flight departing from Bengaluru will land at KIA and arrive in Male at 14:50.

Maldivian hosted the route launch event at Bengaluru’s Chancery Pavilion hotel on October 9th, drawing attendance from over 100 travel trade professionals from across India. The airline will begin operating two weekly flights on every Monday and Thursday as of October 30th, 2023, using its Airbus A320 fleet. At 9:35 a.m., the Male-Bengaluru flight will depart Velana International Airport and arrive at KIA at 12:15. At 13:15, the flight departing from Bengaluru will land at KIA and arrive in Male at 14:50.

This latest addition is a testament to Maldivian’s continuous network expansion, aimed at offering passengers an array of travel choices. The airline remains dedicated to delivering top-notch service and ensuring a comfortable travel experience. Maldivian’s will provide 138 economy class seats and 14 premium economy class seats as a full-service airline. This demonstrates even more the Maldivians’ dedication to all aspects of travel. With a wonderful product onboard the aircraft, premium economy class passengers can benefit from complimentary lounge access in Bengaluru and Male’ during the departure phase.

Mohamed Mihad, Managing Director – Maldivian emphasized that Bangalore stands as one of India’s primary markets for top-tier leisure travel to the Maldives. He stated, “The Maldivian with its high-quality service and perfect scheduling will further help to bring in more tourists from India to Maldives and vice-versa”.

Prominent figures at the Bangalore launch event included Ibrahim Hamdhan – General Manager, Commercial at Maldivian, Mohamed Rishan – Manager of Route Development and Revenue Management, Nazeera Shihab – Commercial representative, Ajay Udeshi – Director of Passenger Sales, and Gita Menon – Regional Director, South India.
