Published on January 25, 2025

Mall of the Emirates unveils major upgrades, including new bridge access, improved road networks, and barrier-less parking, enhancing accessibility and convenience.

Mall of the Emirates, a flagship destination operated by Majid Al Futtaim, has announced significant infrastructure upgrades designed to improve accessibility, ease traffic flow, and enhance the overall visitor experience. These developments are part of a strategic partnership with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and reflect a commitment to delivering seamless travel and parking solutions.

New Bridge Access Enhances Direct Entry

A key highlight of the upgrades is the opening of a new bridge from Umm Suqeim Bridge on January 12. This new access route enables drivers coming from Umm Suqeim to enter the mall’s car park directly, bypassing the U-turn near the Dubai Police Academy. This improvement is expected to alleviate congestion and streamline access for visitors, especially during peak times.

Upgraded Road Networks Around the Mall

The infrastructure upgrades also include the full opening of the Umm Suqeim slip road. This enhancement separates Abu Dhabi-bound traffic from vehicles accessing the mall, ensuring smoother traffic flow around the area. Furthermore, a dual two-way road has been introduced around the mall to improve access to the Kempinski and Sheraton hotels, offering added convenience for hotel guests and visitors.

In addition, plans are underway for a direct bridge connection from Sheikh Zayed Road (Abu Dhabi side) to the mall’s car park, which will further enhance accessibility for drivers traveling from the capital.

Advanced Parking Systems for Seamless Entry

The upgrades extend to parking facilities within the mall, with the introduction of a barrier-less parking system. This innovative solution is set to be operational later this year, providing seamless entry and exit for vehicles and reducing waiting times. The mall’s parking capacity is also being expanded with direct access points and advanced systems, addressing the needs of increasing visitor numbers during events such as the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) and Eid celebrations.

Completion Timeline and Strategic Vision

The remaining road network enhancements are on track for completion by the end of the year. These improvements reflect Majid Al Futtaim’s vision to elevate the visitor experience by prioritizing accessibility, convenience, and innovation. As one of Dubai’s leading retail and entertainment destinations, Mall of the Emirates continues to invest in infrastructure to accommodate growing demand and ensure a world-class experience for its visitors.
