Marriott International and Hainan Qianrui partner to launch W Sanya in China’s top Rrsort

Marriott International, Inc. has recently revealed that it entered into a partnership with Hainan Qianrui Industrial Development Co., Ltd. This collaboration aims to introduce the W Hotels brand to Sanya, a renowned tourist destination on the southern island province of Hainan in China. Positioned in Sanya Bay, W Sanya is expected to launch in the second quarter of 2028. Characterized by its striking design, superior service, and dynamic, ever-present activities, the hotel is set to emerge as a new beacon of upscale hospitality in Sanya.

Situated on the southern shores of Hainan province, Sanya is often dubbed the “Hawaii of the East” due to its tropical ambiance and stunning landscapes. The city’s clear blue waters and dense coconut groves make Sanya Bay a prime choice for vacationers seeking a seaside escape while immersing themselves in the local culture and traditions. W Sanya, conveniently located just four kilometers from Sanya Phoenix International Airport, is close to famous sights such as Tianya Haijiao, Dadonghai Beach, and Phoenix Island, making it a highly attractive option for visitors.

The design of W Sanya comes from the prestigious architectural firm WATG from Singapore, presenting an innovative 15-story structure with a vast and striking rooftop terrace. With its interiors crafted by the globally renowned Yabu Pushelberg, the hotel plans to offer 260 elegantly designed guest rooms and suites, more than half of which will afford guests with direct views of the sea. The property will feature an outdoor infinity pool that provides a breathtaking view of the cityscape, in addition to housing four distinct restaurants and bars for a taste of Sanya’s varied food scenes.

W Sanya is also set to include iconic amenities such as the WET® deck and pool, the FIT® fitness center, and the AWAY® Spa to offer guests refreshing and energizing experiences. With 1,533 square meters of versatile space for meetings and events, the hotel aims to cater to a wide array of event requirements. W Sanya promises to be a welcoming retreat that combines vibrant design, exceptional dining options, and engaging activities for an unforgettable stay.

Marriott International currently manages almost 70 luxury properties across Greater China, with six of these establishments located in Hainan. The introduction of W Sanya is set to further solidify the company’s expanding presence in the luxury segment of southern China.
