Marriott International will debut its first-ever all-inclusive property fully conceptualized by the Marriott brand at the site of the former Marriott Cancun Resort, which closed its doors for extensive renovation this past March.

The award-winning Marriott Cancun Resort has been a staple of the Yucatan Peninsula for several decades, gracing its sweeping shoreline with beachfront accommodations, world-class amenities, and access to Cancun’s most treasured experiences.

Travellers will be relieved to discover that they won’t be bidding their beloved Marriott Cancun Resort a permanent goodbye, but instead an ‘hasta luego.’ The property is being reimagined by Marriott, which is utilizing the space to offer a luxurious twist to the traditional all-inclusive concept when it reopens as Marriott Cancun, an All Inclusive Resort.

With the rapidly growing interest in all-inclusive properties, consumers are more likely than ever to book single-price vacation packages, which will simplify the trip planning and budgeting process. After carefully surveying their members, Marriott International discovered that 173 million of them expressed interest in taking an all-inclusive vacation. Thus, the premium brand is taking the concept to the next level by offering booking options within the high-end sector. The new resort will redefine what it means to be ‘all-inclusive’, not only in terms of services offered, but also in terms of accommodating the lifestyles of visiting guests within the new vision.

Expanding upon the all-inclusive promise, Marriott Cancun, an All-Inclusive Resort will launch all new rooms, suites, and public areas with timeless, elevated designs. Upon arriving through the new lobby entrance, guests are invited to experience a resort that breaks away from preconceived notions of all-inclusive properties. The new layout will feature sprawling open grounds, where guests can take in the surrounding lush nature. The resort’s three pools—an adult pool, a family pool and a kids pool featuring a lazy river and a waterpark—will be situated overlooking the gorgeous turquoise waters of Cancun.

Keeping with Marriott International’s commitment to providing upscale hospitality experiences, the premium all-inclusive property will provide future guests with exceptional food and beverage choices including unique Asian, Mexican, Thai and American concepts as well as a juice cart, a cevicheria and daily food and beverage pop-ups.  A sprawling full-service spa, state-of-the-art fitness center and immersive kids’ club will round out the guest experience, offering a strong variety of luxe facilities and services under the all-inclusive umbrella. The resort began the renovation in March of 2023 and expects to reopen its doors in 2024.  For those who wish to visit a Marriott Cancun property in the meantime, the JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa sister resort is open and operating, offering luxury accommodations, unparalleled amenities, and unbridled access to the Yucatan Peninsula’s magical shoreline.

“It’s wonderful to be at the forefront of something as groundbreaking as this,” said Christopher Calabrese, General Manager and Vice President of Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort and JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa. “Over my extensive tenure with the Marriott brand, I’ve maintained that we can only grow in collaboration with our valued guests, consistently honoring their needs and desires. To be the first all-inclusive fully conceptualized by Marriott property, not only in Mexico, but in the world, is a true testament to the dedication of our staff, who are the heart and soul of our operation here, and our guests, who continue to visit year after year. We are anxious to welcome everyone back in 2024.”
