The renewed partnership coincides with a growing desire among Canadians to travel, as highlighted in the Mastercard Economics Institute’s Travel Industry Trends 2023 report. Global flight bookings have shown a remarkable 33% year-over-year growth, with leisure flight bookings in Canada increasing by over 45% in 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.

Mastercard aims to continue providing exceptional value and outstanding flight and travel benefits through one of the top travel rewards cards in Canada, in partnership with WestJet.
The WestJet RBC Mastercard® and the WestJet RBC World Elite® Mastercard® will remain the go-to travel rewards credit cards for Canadians, offering substantial value. A special limited-time offer is available until March 14, 2024, allowing applicants to earn up to 700 WestJet dollars, equivalent to covering a base fare for a round trip to Las Vegas or $700 off a Puerto Vallarta vacation package*.
Furthermore, the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard provides additional benefits, including an annual companion voucher for the primary cardholder, starting from $119***. This card also offers the primary cardholder the first checked bag at no charge, along with the same benefit for up to eight additional guests on the same reservation. WestJet dollars can be used with no blackout dates, either to pay for the base fare of flights or towards the base package price of any WestJet Vacations booking.
