Mathias Dahlgren has received the esteemed Lifetime Achievement of the Year Award in the Falstaff Nordic Restaurant Guide Sweden. The guide highlights Sweden’s top 110 restaurants, with three eateries from Grand Hôtel—Seafood Gastro, Matbaren, and Grand Soleil—garnering significant praise.

Today, Falstaff Nordic unveils the outcomes of its thorough restaurant guide, spotlighting the finest dining establishments in Sweden and acknowledging notable figures in the culinary industry. Among them, Mathias Dahlgren is honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement of the Year Award.

Falstaff Nordic’s motivation reads: “Mathias Dahlgren has been a leading force in Sweden for almost 30 years. He is not only a brilliant chef, but also a fantastic inspiration, leader and role model. Although he has received both praise and criticism during his career, he continues to courageously and curiously go his own way – and light up the country’s culinary sky.”

Mathias Dahlgren shares his delight: “It is a tremendous honour to receive the award and to be part of Falstaff’s prestigious restaurant guides. After almost three decades, it is a great honour to have the opportunity to inspire and develop the food landscape of the future together with my team.”

The Falstaff Nordic Restaurant Guide Sweden evaluates a comprehensive list of 110 restaurants. Tying for third place, Seafood Gastro receives an impressive score of 95 out of 100 points. This accolade grants the newly established Seafood Gastro, overseen by Mathias Dahlgren, the topmost rating of four forks. Matbaren and Grand Soleil earn three and two forks respectively, with scores of 92 and 89 points.

“On behalf of the entire Grand Hôtel, I would like to congratulate Mathias Dahlgren on this honourable and well-deserved award. I would also like to congratulate and thank our phenomenal employees who have contributed to the excellent ratings of our restaurants. We at Grand Hôtel are extremely proud to be able to contribute to the joy of food and to develop Stockholm’s food scene”, says Pia Djupmark, CEO of Grand Hôtel Stockholm.
