Medjimurje sustainable tourism stands out from crowd

Tourists from around the remaining Europe and from various parts of the world are all set to pay more for sustainable tourism. The same holds true for Croatian tourism as well. With visitors prepared to pay around 20 percent extra, Medjimurje sustainable tourism is noticeable from the multitude.

As many as twenty years of commitment and diligence at the level of the whole destination was required for Medjimurje sustainable tourism to touch astandard of sustainability that many others are just starting to think about.

Validation that they are the correct path came during the commencement of March at the ITB Berlin tourism event, where gorgeous Medjimurje County was acknowledged as a Green Destinations province and was bestowed the silver Green Destination tag. This made Medjimurjethe first provincein Croatia and the fourth internationally toobtain this accreditation.

Green Destination is aninternationallyacknowledged nonprofitmaking organization that collaborates with 200 places in more than 80 countries around the world, and grows sustainable and accountable tourism in agreement with the ideologies of the United Nations (UN) and the objectives of the Global Council for Sustainable Tourism.
