Met Eireann has confirmed an incredible seven days of dry conditions with heatwave temperatures. This week will be dominated by heavy rain and continued showers, however, this will soon end.

The summer is quickly coming to an end, with a final return to warm weather expected.

Met Eireann predicted a generally unsettled picture with low pressure dominating though high pressure out to the west may lead to some drier periods than of late.

Temperatures will increase around this time, with the hottest conditions expected on 11 August. The southwest will reach 24 and 25 degrees, while the southeast will range between 23 and 24 degrees.

It is reported that on 1st August there would be sunny spells and scattered passing showers, with rain developing in southwestern parts by evening and extending northeastwards.
