Mexico witness increase in ground transport bookings

Mexico, which is a popular tourist spot for the North American and European markets, witnessed an increase in ground transport bookings throughout the peak period of June to August this year.

This trend is suggestive of the retrieval of the travel industry with a return of confidence in bookings.

As per newest statistics tracking Mexico travel started by customers from the US and important European markets like the UK, France, Germany and Spain, there was a 569 per cent surge in tickets sold between August 2021 and August 2022.

August marked the ending month of the summer season.

Bookings also got better over the season, with tickets sale going up by 103 per cent between June and August, more than doubling the 48 per cent upsurge in tickets sold between June and August 2021.

Even though Mexico reopened its boundaries for non-essential travelers from the US in November 2021, the US Centers for Disease Control & Prevention dismissed the necessity for a negative lateral flow assessment prior to entering or re-entering the US at a later date, in June 2022.

This relieved the procedure for citizens coming back from holiday in Mexico, preventing the increase in travel over the 2022 peak term. Couples propelled this high season increase in the country.

Single travelers comprised 19 per cent of bookings through ground transport, which includes buses, ferries, trains, minivans, and groups of 3 or more for 28 per cent of bookings.
