Chas Henry

Meyer Jabara Hotels is embarking on a focused endeavor. With a portfolio comprising 31 hotels, the owner/operator has enlisted the expertise of an investment professional to scout potential acquisitions, attract equity investors, and secure debt financing. Welcoming Chas Henry as the new Senior VP of Business Development and Acquisitions marks a significant step in this direction. Henry’s primary responsibility is to expand the company’s third-party management contracts and underscore Meyer Jabara Hotels’ prowess in effectively operating hotels for ownership groups seeking portfolio diversification.

“2024 is going to be an exciting year for Meyer Jabara Hotels,” said Justin Jabara, MJH president. “We
are investing not just in the right assets, but in the right people who will help us grow at the right pace.
Chas brings a dynamic background to our company, and his relationships with investors and joint
venture partners will surely grow our portfolio – not too big or too fast – in markets where it makes the
most sense.
“I’ve known Chas for many years,” Jabara said. “He brings nearly a decade of hotel development
experience and a wealth of relationships to the table. His highly competitive nature – something he
cultivated on the football field while playing for the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers –
will go a long way as we go head-to-head against some top players in the third-party management
space.”

Impressive Background

Before joining Meyer Jabara Hotels, Henry held the position of Vice President of Business Development and Acquisitions at GF Hotels & Resorts. In this role, he spearheaded initiatives to expand the company’s hotel portfolio through acquisitions, third-party management contracts, and new development ventures. His expertise spans various types of properties, including resorts, conference centers, full-service, and select-service hotels nationwide.

Henry is an alumnus of the University of Florida, where he continues to engage actively. He serves as a board member on the University of Florida Bergstrom Real Estate Advisory Board and frequently participates in advisory councils. Residing in Tampa, Florida, he remains deeply involved in the hospitality industry, contributing through event sponsorship, speaking engagements, and panel discussions across the country.

“Meyer Jabara Hotels has always been a formidable player in the management company arena,”
Henry said. “From the moment I started in this industry, MJ was undisputedly an industry-leading
owner/operator that I admired for its family-oriented culture and 47 years in the business. Justin has
always been extremely approachable and a good source to bounce off ideas. His future growth plans
for the company and ability to attract top talent like new CIO Ian McAuley impressed me to such an
extent that I had to be a part of the team. Although the industry is not back to pre-COVID levels from a
development standpoint, the growth opportunity for Meyer Jabara Hotels is there due to the
infrastructure long built by Bill Meyer and Richard Jabara.
“Owners needing a best-in-class third-party hotel manager should look no further than Meyer Jabara
Hotels,” Henry said. “I’ve been in the business for nearly a decade. I’ve gone head-to-head with MJ for
third-party management contracts. Their proven track record and quality of work are unmatched. I
whole-heartedly agree with Justin – ‘2024 is going to be an exciting year for Meyer Jabara Hotels.’”
