International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) has presented AVIXA’s InfoComm América Latina 2025 with the 2026 IAEE International Excellence Award, recognising the debut event as a standout addition to the global professional audiovisual (ProAV) exhibitions landscape. The honour reflects the show’s successful launch in Latin America, strong industry engagement, and its role in strengthening regional business and knowledge exchange within the sector.

The first edition of InfoComm América Latina 2025 was staged in October 2025 in Mexico City as a newly established regional platform under the InfoComm brand. Designed to serve the rapidly expanding Latin American ProAV market, the event brought together technology providers, integrators, consultants, and end users in a focused environment built around both commercial opportunity and technical learning.

From the outset, the exhibition demonstrated strong market traction. It attracted 5,214 participants, including 3,915 buyers, alongside 61 exhibitors occupying 2,656 square metres of exhibition space. The attendance profile indicated a high level of purchasing influence, suggesting that the event successfully reached decision-makers and active project stakeholders across multiple sectors, including corporate communications, education technology, entertainment systems, and public infrastructure.

A defining feature of the exhibition was its integrated approach to content and engagement. Rather than functioning solely as a traditional trade show, the event combined business networking with structured learning experiences. The programme included 47 education sessions addressing key themes such as system integration, immersive audiovisual environments, digital communication infrastructure, and emerging ProAV technologies.

Complementing the educational agenda were 16 manufacturer-led training sessions, offering hands-on exposure to product applications and technical workflows. In addition, seven dedicated demo rooms provided live, scenario-based demonstrations, allowing attendees to experience technologies in operational contexts rather than static displays. This layered format reflected a growing industry expectation that exhibitions deliver both commercial value and applied technical insight.

Participant feedback underscored the event’s strong reception. Attendees widely viewed the exhibition as a relevant and valuable business platform, while overall satisfaction levels remained high across the board. Exhibitors also reported strong outcomes, with the vast majority indicating that their participation generated a strong return on investment. These results point to effective buyer-seller engagement and a productive environment for lead generation and partnership development.

The award was formally presented at IMEX Frankfurt 2026, a major international gathering for the global meetings and events industry. IAEE used the occasion to highlight the importance of exhibitions that successfully identify emerging market needs and translate them into well-executed platforms that drive measurable industry impact.

According to IAEE, the recognition reflects the exhibition’s ability to enter a new market with clarity of purpose and deliver a structured experience aligned with industry demand. The award also signals growing appreciation for regional exhibitions that are tailored to specific economic and technological environments, rather than relying solely on large global trade show formats.

The success of the inaugural edition has already set the stage for expansion. Organisers have indicated that the next edition is expected to increase exhibition space by approximately 60%, reflecting rising demand from both exhibitors and attendees. This planned growth suggests increasing confidence in the Latin American ProAV market and the event’s position as a key regional gathering point.

The development of InfoComm América Latina also aligns with broader efforts to expand the global footprint of the InfoComm brand and the wider ProAV ecosystem. By establishing a dedicated platform in Latin America, the initiative strengthens connections between international manufacturers and regional markets, while also supporting the adoption of advanced audiovisual solutions across industries undergoing digital transformation.

Latin America’s ProAV sector is currently experiencing steady growth, driven by accelerating investment in hybrid communication systems, smart learning environments, and immersive digital experiences. As organisations modernise infrastructure and expand digital capabilities, demand for integrated audiovisual solutions continues to rise, creating a strong foundation for specialised industry events.

Within this context, InfoComm América Latina 2025 has positioned itself as more than a traditional exhibition. It functions as a convergence point for technology exchange, professional education, and business development, reflecting the evolving role of industry events in supporting sector-wide growth.

The IAEE International Excellence Award forms part of a wider recognition programme that evaluates achievements across global exhibitions based on innovation, execution quality, and industry contribution. Additional awards under the 2026 programme will be announced at Expo! Expo! IAEE Annual Meeting & Exhibition 2026.

Overall, the recognition of InfoComm América Latina 2025 highlights the successful launch of a purpose-built regional platform that has quickly established credibility within the ProAV industry. Its strong attendance figures, positive stakeholder feedback, and planned expansion point to continued growth and an increasingly important role in shaping the future of the audiovisual sector in Latin America.
