Chompan Kulnides, Chief Sustainability Officer of Minor International, commented: “S&P Global’s recognition validates our team members’ passionate commitment to ‘Shared Value Creation’, driving business growth while benefiting the environment and society. By investing in people, committing to reduce carbon footprint, protecting biodiversity and nurturing good corporate governance, we believe we can positively impact where we operate for future generations of residents and travellers.”

Minor Hotels acknowledges the intrinsic connection between its success and the well-being of society and the environment. In 2022, Minor unveiled its pledge to achieve net-zero status by 2050, along with interim targets aimed at reducing energy and water consumption as well as carbon emissions.

Since 2008, Minor Hotels’ sustainability efforts have been evaluated by Green Growth 2050, a leading sustainability standard in the travel and tourism industry. The company mandates a minimum of Gold certification for its Anantara and Avani brands, with 20 properties surpassing this benchmark with Platinum certification.

Additionally, Minor Hotels passionately promotes sustainable tourism in its communities by launching programs centered on education, healthcare, and environmental preservation. Initiatives such as the Dollars for Deeds program inspire guests at Anantara and Avani to participate in local community projects. Supporting these efforts are foundations like The Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation and The Mai Khao Turtle Foundation, which finance and supervise a range of initiatives.
