Over the next three years, substantial amounts are planned to be directed towards the development of public transportation and transport infrastructure, primarily in the mentioned cities.
In Auckland, the City Rail Link project is already underway, involving the construction of a rail transport system.
Work is progressing rapidly, and the project is expected to be completed by 2025.
At the same time, in Wellington, KiwiRail is undertaking works to modernize and expand the rail transport network as part of the Wellington Metro Upgrade program.
These efforts are part of a larger program called Future Rail, aimed at improving railway infrastructure across the country.
Such steps demonstrate New Zealand’s serious commitment to improving public transportation and creating a more sustainable and efficient transportation system for residents and visitors alike.
