In an ongoing effort to elevate customer satisfaction and meet growing demand on the route, Malaysia Airlines will introduce its premier Airbus A350-900 aircraft on both daily nonstop flights between Kuala Lumpur and Doha starting April 1, 2024.

Since November 2023, one of the airline’s daily services has been serviced by the Airbus A350, alongside the Airbus A330-300. The airline will now employ its newly acquired Airbus A350 for the second daily service, offering a total seating capacity of 300 passengers, including 40 in Business Class, 32 in Economy Comfort – featuring increased seat pitch and width – and 228 in Economy Class. The Business Class cabin, arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, showcases Thompson XL Vantage seats, ensuring passengers enjoy both comfort and direct aisle access, along with ample storage space for practicality and convenience.

With the transition to Airbus A350 aircraft on both daily flights, travelers can anticipate elevated comfort levels across all cabin classes, courtesy of state-of-the-art seats and an innovative in-flight entertainment system, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable journey.

Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, Group Managing Director of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), said, “The strategic decision to deploy our A350s on both daily services reflects our commitment to continually enhancing the passenger experience, aligning with one of our key customer priorities: ensuring optimal cabin comfort. With the route demonstrating robust performance, we are confident in both the route’s success and our role in facilitating connectivity to Doha and beyond with our unparalleled Malaysian Hospitality.”

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, said, “Qatar Airways is delighted by yet another milestone in our strategic partnership with Malaysia Airlines. Since the launch of Malaysia Airlines’ first flight to our award-winning hub, Hamad International Airport in Doha almost two years ago, our partnership growth has been driven by our mutual desire to provide our customers with robust access when travelling to new destinations and ensuring a comfortable and seamless travel experience.”

The airline presently operates two daily services departing from Kuala Lumpur: MH164 at 2:55 am and MH160 at 9:00 pm. Return flights from Doha depart via MH165 at 8:05 am and MH161 at 1:50 am. Both routes feature codeshare agreements with Qatar Airways.

Thanks to the strategic partnership between Malaysia Airlines and Qatar Airways, passengers benefit from seamless travel and connectivity to over 96 codeshare destinations via the partners’ key hubs in Kuala Lumpur and Doha. These destinations span across Malaysia, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, and Africa.
