Mothra Exhibition Expands Travel Opportunities at Awaji Island’s Anime Park

Published on December 11, 2025

A new seasonal feature is introduced at Nijigen no Mori as the Godzilla-themed zone reaches its fifth anniversary. The park prepares a long-running Mothra exhibition from December 20, 2025, to September 13, 2026. This addition strengthens the location’s appeal for visitors planning themed trips to Awaji Island, offering displays, event-focused food, and exclusive merchandise designed for a full-day stop within the park.

Mothra Display Added to the Godzilla Interception Operation

The exhibition is scheduled inside the Godzilla Museum within the Godzilla Interception Operation area of Nijigen no Mori. It highlights Mothra through a curated set of original filming props from the Heisei Mothra Series created between 1996 and 1998. Items include Mothra Leo, the familiar egg prop, and a tall visual panel portraying Mothra as a guardian figure. All elements are arranged with guidance from Toho’s visual arts team to preserve the craftsmanship seen in the series. The long exhibition period helps travelers fit the event into seasonal plans. Weekday access runs from 10:00 to 20:00 with a final entry at 18:00. Weekend and holiday access extends to 22:00 with last entry at 20:00. Entry is included for those holding Gold, Premium, or VIP Journey Passes. Visitors who secure pre-booked admission receive a limited postcard featuring a Mothra design.

These items feature Mothra, rival monsters, or an event-specific logo, supporting visitors seeking themed souvenirs during their trip. Travelers can also try themed food at the Mori no Terrace restaurant. Nine oversized items form the “Dynamic Kaiju Cuisine” range, introduced on December 20. Dishes include the Godzilla vs. Mothra W-Kaiju Curry for groups at ¥3,900, the King Ghidorah Mega Bowl at ¥1,980, and a Godzilla Bucket of onion rings and fries at ¥1,500. Additional Mothra dishes appear for the event, such as the Mothra Leo White Curry at ¥2,300 and the Mothra Larva Chocolate Ice Cream at ¥950. Restaurant hours run from 11:00 to 19:30 with a last order at 19:00. The location sits inside the same area as the museum, simplifying movement for tourists.

Tourism-Focused Appeal for Visitors Planning Leisure Trips

The exhibition offers a structured activity for travelers seeking themed attractions during visits to Awaji Island. The displays, merchandise, and dining selections allow visitors to spend extended time inside the park without leaving the area. This supports varied travel styles, from families to casual tourists who prefer activities that combine entertainment and simple logistics. The long operational window enables travelers to schedule visits during different travel seasons. The event’s mix of visual elements, character-linked meals, and accessible pathways creates an experience suited for multi-hour stays. Tourists can also match the attraction with wider outings across the island, giving flexibility when planning itineraries that balance leisure and themed stops. The environment remains suitable for different age groups, helping travelers structure plans around shared experiences linked to well-known kaiju.

Visitor Logistics Within Nijigen no Mori

The event is situated inside the Godzilla Interception Operation zone at Nijigen no Mori. Its position supports smooth routing for travelers moving between the museum, shop, and restaurant. Because the exhibition runs for several months, trip planners can align a visit with seasonal travel windows. The combination of displays, goods, and food items encourages longer stays within the venue and strengthens Awaji Island’s appeal for day trips. Travelers can enjoy a complete activity without the need to exit the park, making it suitable for compact itineraries.
