Mov Inc., which runs Japan’s leading inbound tourism platform “Honichi Lab (Visit Japan Lab),” has unveiled its distinctive “Ranking of Popular Tourist Destinations in Japan among Overseas Visitors.” This ranking is informed by recent feedback collected from various tourist sites.
The survey was conducted from November 18, 2023, to December 3, 2023, focusing on publicly shared reviews on Google Maps.
The analysis is based on Google Maps reviews from international tourists, providing insights into their genuine travel experiences in Japan.
Here is the “Top 10 List of Popular Tourist Destinations among Overseas Visitors in Japan”:
“teamLab Planets TOKYO DMM” emerged as the top favorite among foreign visitors.
Additional information includes that teamLab Planets, an immersive art museum located in Toyosu, Tokyo, is slated to remain open until the end of 2027. It has garnered over 300 reviews in non-Japanese languages in just two weeks, underscoring its popularity with international tourists. The 2023 rankings highlight attractions in both Tokyo and the Kansai area.

The Japan Tourism Agency reports that estimated inbound tourism spending for 2023 reached 5,292.3 billion yen, marking an increase from the 4,813.5 billion yen in 2019 and a significant 5.9-fold rise from 2022.
