Moxy Hotels, a member of Marriott Bonvoy’s extensive collection featuring over 30 exceptional hotel brands, has unveiled the inauguration of Moxy Halifax Downtown, its first venture in Canada. Remaining faithful to the brand’s immersive ethos, the hotel boldly redefines the conventional hotel experience through dynamic guest interactions and spirited, convivial service.
Situated in Halifax, the swiftly expanding coastal metropolis in Atlantic Canada, the newly opened 160-room establishment offers convenient access to Halifax’s bustling downtown milieu and is mere strides away from a diverse array of superb shopping outlets, spas, galleries, parks, concert arenas, and sporting venues.

Architecture, Design, and Amenities:
The main lobby design draws inspiration from industrial Halifax, showcasing steel bridge columns alongside the bar area, exposed brick walls, and an original cannon. It boasts a custom-built DJ booth and a display of vintage luggage, reflecting the city’s global influences. A notable feature is the steel lion sculpture at the hotel entrance, a nod to the Nova Scotia flag, crafted by local firm Ballast Design Studios. Tucked away is the ‘Lion’s Den’, a modern tribute to the Trinity Anglican Church, featuring stained glass replicas and suspended pipes from the original organ.
The hotel offers smart and inventive guestroom layouts, including 18 suites with open kitchens. The industrial-chic bedrooms blend functionality with edgy details, featuring modular furniture such as Moxy’s signature Stellar Works foldable workspace desks and chairs. Guests enjoy tech-savvy amenities like motion-activated LED lights, keyless entry, 55-inch flat-screen TVs, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Fitness options include a boxing bag, gym equipment, and a full-circuit gym accessible 24/7.
Eat, Drink, and Play:
Moxy Halifax Downtown introduces refreshing drinking and small plate dining concepts, embodying an unpretentious yet stylish atmosphere. Bar Moxy serves as a daytime workspace and evening social hotspot, featuring local brands and a variety of cocktails, wines, and brews. Moxy Pick-Ups provides 24/7 grab-and-go snacks and drinks for guests’ convenience.
