In a bid to promote the region as a prime tourism destination, the picturesque Kuno National region in MP, which is home to 18 cheetahs, will host its first Kuno Festival. Following a comprehensive examination, authorities intend to allow tourists within the park’s main area.

The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB) is planning a festival in September to develop and market the National Park on a national and worldwide scale.

The event, which will last five days, will provide guests with a profusion of exhilarating land, sea, and air-based adventure activities, all planned to maintain the greatest levels of safety and security. To ensure the festival’s success, 125 travel agents, tour operators, and 35 media representatives will be asked to attend and promote it.

During the fiesta, a separate tent city with 50 luxurious tents will be set up to welcome travellers.
Sheo Shekar Shukla, managing director of MPTB, told TOI that he believes Kuno has great potential as a wildlife tourist destination.

“Kuno is going to be the next big wildlife tourism destination, and efforts are underway to provide best experience to travel enthusiasts.”

Shukla went on to say that a one-of-a-kind glamping experience in a beautiful tent city with different ecotourism choices is being planned to exhibit rural and tribal life, local crafts, cuisine, and culture, hence fostering inclusive and responsible tourism.

The festival programme has an outstanding roster of adventure activities to suit all tastes.Air sports for adrenaline junkies include parasailing, hot air balloon rides, free flights, and paragliding.

Water aficionados may go kayaking, parasailing, speed boating, zorbing, dragon boating, and banana boat excursions. Visitors may enjoy pair cycling, cycling, hiking, stargazing, rope courses, jungle safaris, night jungle walks, ATV rides, ziplining, paintballing, air gun shooting, and even a special kids’ zone on land.

There will also be a yoga centre with expert instructors, as well as horse and camel riding facilities, for relaxation and regeneration.

“Beyond the adventure activities, the festival will feature a five-day live concert showcasing renowned artists and musicians.Food and Craft Bazaars will also be set up, enticing visitors with local delicacies and handmade crafts,” says Vivek Shortiya, additional MD MPTB.
