MP government implements travel restrictions

A resident of Maharashtra going anywhere in Madhya Pradesh (MP) might require staying under home quarantine for a week. There might be arrangement at a government facility or a hotel in some places, else they wouldn’t be granted entry.

On Monday, the MP government issued directions asking for seven-day quarantine for those traveling from Maharashtra. This includes residents of MP itself and also those from other states. Officials also clarified that there will always be scope for relaxation in some cases. Movement would be allowed for working in establishments on either side or any other emergency.

MP had imposed curbs last month itself. However, among neighboring districts, only Chhindwara had imposed the no certificate no entry rule stringently. Following the fresh order by the state’s home department, all the districts of MP will have the same rule.

This means that a resident of Maharashtra need to pass with a Covid certificate or stay under quarantine wherever possible. The practical difficulties will be dealt with, as and when encountered.
