To guarantee employment related opportunities for women in tourism, and to enhance sustainability, the initiative with the title – Sankalp: Safe Tourism Campaign will be introduced. At first, from August 10 to 25, it was introduced as a 15-day campaign. Later on, this will be implemented in a phased manner by
separating 50 tourist hotspots into 20 clusters.

Reports have mentioned that the Central Ministry of Women and Child Development Department has sanctioned the project ‘Nirbhaya Scheme’ and the Tourism Board of Madhya Pradesh is managing it in partnership with UN Women, Urban Development and Housing Department, Women and Child Development, and Police Department. If reports are to be followed, the main target of this plan is to make a congenial environment for women by tutoring them rightly, and making more awareness in terms of their safety.

Women will turn into boat operators in line with this development, to organize tourists at Omkareshwar. It’s a tourist place which is situated 80 kms from Indore, while others will be presented as storytellers to tell the state’s old history to travel enthusiasts.

Reports also mention that over a dozen women from the nearby villages are going through training to row boats to transport tourists.
