Mpape Community leaders have made loud noises and told the FCT Administration to take away its bulldozers from the area’s touristic site, explaining that these places have turned into the abodes of criminal activities. Mpape houses the Crush Rock Spring Water, one of the most gorgeous tourist sites in the territory and is famous for its beauty.

However, it’s underdeveloped site but could have the possibility to generate unbelievable revenue annually.

At the weekend, during an interaction with Attah Ikharo, the Senior Special Assistant on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement to the FCT Minister, these leaders showed their concerns.

They observed that their happiness of having a peaceful and tranquil environment without any traffic jam and marauding gangs on the street after the huge cleanup by the FCT Ministerial Committee had been discontinued.

Musa Ahmadu, Chief of Mpape, also observed that the places where the Taskforce removed illegal occupants had been fully rebuilt without their permission.

At different tourism sites, he said that the troublemakers had even intensifying their criminal activities and with time, when new tourists will come, they will scare them away from visiting the area.

He has requested the FCTA to send its Taskforce back to the community immediately. He also urged them to remove the illegal market extension along with criminal lodges from the tourism sites.

Ikharo while responding to the plea made by the community observed that it was untoward that handful of people had compelled the government to waste scarce resources on illegal structures.
