MSC Cruises Launches New Era of Texas Homeporting with Year-Round MSC Seascape Sailings from Galveston, Showcasing Exclusive Western Caribbean Itineraries and Texan-Inspired Experiences

Published on November 7, 2025

The MSC Seascape has officially arrived in Galveston, Texas, marking a significant milestone for MSC Cruises as it launches its first-ever homeporting operation in the state. This move is part of the company’s continued efforts to expand its footprint in the United States, and Galveston will serve as a key port for the cruise line’s operations in the coming years.

Having repositioned from Miami, the 2022-built MSC Seascape is now set to operate on a year-round basis, offering passengers the opportunity to embark on unforgettable cruises from Galveston’s brand-new cruise terminal at Pier 16. This facility, designed to accommodate MSC’s growing fleet, further enhances Galveston’s status as a leading cruise destination in the U.S.

Starting November 9, the MSC Seascape will set sail from Galveston every Sunday, offering a series of seven-night itineraries to the Western Caribbean. These cruises will include stops at some of the most popular destinations in the region, including Mexico and Honduras. Ports of call include Costa Maya and Cozumel in Mexico, as well as Roatán in Honduras, all of which are known for their stunning beaches, rich cultural experiences, and vibrant local markets.

In addition to offering exciting itineraries, MSC is taking steps to make the experience even more memorable by providing a range of food and beverage options that reflect the local flavors of the region. The MSC Seascape’s onboard dining will feature Southern, Texan, and Gulf Coast-inspired dishes, giving guests a true taste of the area. Some of the highlights will include barbecue-forward meals, Cajun-spiced dishes, and Southern-style comfort food. These flavors will complement the ship’s existing dining options, which already include a wide variety of international cuisine.

The ship’s drink selection will also get a Texas-inspired twist. Guests can enjoy a diverse range of cocktails and beverages, including Southern and Texan favorites, at various bars and lounges across the ship. Whether it’s a refreshing iced tea, a perfectly mixed cocktail, or a glass of local beer, the drink menu will offer something for everyone looking to enjoy the Texan hospitality.

Entertainment onboard the MSC Seascape will also be uniquely Texan, offering passengers a chance to immerse themselves in local culture. The ship will feature a resident country music band, aptly named The Lone Star, which will perform throughout the cruise. Guests will also be able to enjoy a Dueling Pianos experience, where two talented pianists will battle it out, playing everything from classic country hits to modern favorites. With these Texan-themed entertainment options, MSC is ensuring that passengers have a fun and engaging cruise experience that celebrates the local culture.

The MSC Seascape is set to sail from Galveston until at least October 2027, giving passengers several years to take advantage of this new cruise opportunity. With this addition, MSC Cruises now operates from four major U.S. homeports: Galveston, PortMiami, Port Canaveral, and New York City. This expansion allows MSC to offer a wider variety of itineraries and more flexibility for passengers looking to cruise to destinations across the Caribbean, Europe, and beyond.

Looking ahead to the 2025-26 winter season, MSC Cruises will operate a variety of ships from its U.S. homeports. The World America, Divina, and Seaside will sail from PortMiami, while Seashore and Grandiosa will operate out of Port Canaveral. In New York City, the Meraviglia will be available for winter sailings. For the summer of 2026, MSC will debut in Seattle with the MSC Poesia, marking the company’s first-ever season in Alaska. This will be a major step in MSC’s plans to grow its presence in North America and expand its cruise offerings to new and exciting destinations.

With the launch of MSC Seascape’s operations from Galveston, MSC Cruises is bringing a new level of luxury and excitement to Texas. By offering expanded food and beverage choices, unique Texan entertainment experiences, and incredible itineraries to the Western Caribbean, MSC is positioning Galveston as a key cruise hub in the U.S. This move is just the beginning of MSC’s continued expansion across the Americas, and with new ships and destinations on the horizon, there is much more to look forward to for MSC fans and cruise enthusiasts alike.
