After undergoing routine drydock maintenance in Europe, MSC Cruises’ MSC Virtuosa has embarked on a new chapter, returning to the Southern Caribbean for its 2025-26 winter season. Departing from Fort-de-France in Martinique, this luxurious ship is offering a series of seven-night itineraries, allowing guests to explore a selection of some of the Caribbean’s most stunning islands.

MSC Virtuosa’s Caribbean debut follows a transatlantic repositioning cruise from Europe. The ship set sail from Southampton, UK, on a 16-night cruise across the Atlantic, visiting several ports including Le Havre (France), Ponta Delgada (Azores), and finally arriving in Martinique at the start of December. After a smooth crossing, it is now ready to offer a new winter escape to sun-seeking travellers.

After completing its 2025-26 Caribbean season, MSC Virtuosa will sail to South America for its inaugural season in the region. Starting in 2026-27, the ship will offer a series of cruises along the Brazilian coast, with sailings departing from major ports like Santos, Salvador, and Maceió. This deployment will make MSC Virtuosa the largest ship sailing in Brazil.

The ship is also set to continue its European itineraries in 2027, transitioning to summer sailings in the Mediterranean, offering a fresh experience for those looking to explore the coastlines of Italy, Spain, and France.

MSC Expands Caribbean Presence

MSC Cruises is significantly expanding its Caribbean operations. In late 2026, MSC Seaview and MSC Opera will join MSC Virtuosa in the region, marking the first time that MSC Cruises will offer year-round Caribbean cruises. The MSC Opera will sail from the newly introduced La Romana in the Dominican Republic, further increasing the line’s capacity in the Southern Caribbean.

This expansion will bring new destinations and more choice for travellers, with the introduction of La Romana as a homeport, allowing for additional itineraries in the Caribbean.
