Mumbai airport’s 2024 summer schedule sees 8% jump in weekly flights

Mumbai’s CSMIA 2024 summer schedule to see 8% more flights, totaling 6,657 weekly movements, enhancing travel for local and international passengers.

The upcoming summer program at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in 2024 is set to witness a significant boost in airline operations, registering an 8% growth in weekly flights compared to the 2023 schedule.

According to a statement from the airport authorities, CSMIA will see an average of 951 flights per day, marking a rise from the prior summer’s average of 882 daily flights. This translates to an impressive total of 6,657 flight movements every week, showcasing a substantial 8% uptick in the frequency of weekly flights in 2024 when juxtaposed with the figures from 2023.

Out of the 951 flights operating daily, 269 will be international while 682 will cater to domestic passengers.

This surge in flight services is anticipated to greatly favor travelers from Mumbai and its vicinity. The summer flight schedule is further enhanced by the addition of new flights to international cities such as Paris, Doha, Hanoi, and the newly introduced destination of Tashkent.

As detailed by CSMIA, IndiGo is set to operate 1,255 flights each week, while Air India and Vistara will offer 539 and 519 weekly flights respectively. The schedule also highlights a notable increase in flights to Delhi, featuring 27 additional weekly services. Moreover, other destinations will see increased frequencies, including 14 more flights to Ayodhya weekly, nine to Kolkata, and an increase of 28 weekly flights to Srinagar.

To accommodate the upsurge in travel demand and enhance passenger experience, CSMIA has implemented several infrastructural upgrades, ensuring the airport’s readiness to efficiently manage the higher volume of travelers.
