Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced the addition of eight new experiences under its global Special Happens… programme, strengthening its position within the luxury hospitality sector. The programme has been developed around four categories: After Dark, In the Spotlight, Around the Table and In the Wild.

The expansion demonstrates the growing importance of Bespoke travel experiences within the luxury accommodation market. Rather than focusing only on premium facilities, the programme places emphasis on emotional connections, memorable encounters and exclusive opportunities that create lasting impressions.
Fairmont stated that the Special Happens… initiative was created to help guests embrace unexpected moments, discover local narratives and experience destinations through a more personal perspective.
Among the new additions, several experiences focus on music, performance and cultural storytelling. At Fairmont Tokyo, guests are being invited to experience a private evening at OFF RECORD, the hotel’s sophisticated listening bar.
The experience has been designed around music, cocktails and Tokyo’s nightlife culture. Guests are guided through four musical chapters inspired by J-Pop, UK Rock, Reggae and American Soul. Each section is paired with signature cocktails, bespoke bites and storytelling from a Tokyo-based DJ.
The experience is further enhanced through a stay in the Presidential Suite at Fairmont Tokyo, where curated sound experiences continue through premium audio systems and exclusive vinyl selections.
In Puerto Rico, Fairmont El San Juan Hotel has introduced The Grand Performance Experience Stay. The programme allows guests to explore the property’s entertainment heritage, inspired by legendary performers associated with the hotel.
Guests are provided with personalised styling before receiving the opportunity to perform live on stage alongside a band at Chico Cabaret. The experience combines entertainment, dining and nightlife, creating one of the most distinctive exclusive hotel experiences within the new collection.
Fairmont Golden Prague has also introduced a private music experience through its collaboration with dopeYEAH. The offering provides guests with personalised access to performances, artists and private spaces normally unavailable to the public.
Food, history and destination storytelling form another important part of Fairmont’s latest programme expansion. In Istanbul, The Spice Route at Fairmont Quasar Istanbul allows guests to explore the Spice Bazaar after public hours.
Guided by a master merchant, visitors are introduced to centuries of spice-trading heritage, rare ingredients and traditional flavours connected with Istanbul’s historic commercial routes.
The experience continues at Aila, where guests create their own spice blends before enjoying a private chef-led tasting dinner. The combination of culinary craftsmanship and cultural discovery reflects the growing demand for Bespoke travel experiences among luxury travellers.
In Abu Dhabi, Fairmont Bab Al Bahr has introduced Karam: A Journey of Emirati Hospitality. The full-day experience begins with Arabic coffee and dates before guests travel to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque for a personalised cultural visit.
The programme continues with Chef Muna Al Mansoori introducing guests to Emirati cuisine, traditions and cooking techniques before a meal is served at Mazaj overlooking Khor Al Maqta and the Grand Mosque.
At Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston, the Holiday Bacchanal Dinner transforms the hotel’s historic lobby into an exclusive festive dining environment. The annual event includes Champagne, live music, a five-course meal and carefully selected wines.
Fairmont’s new collection also includes nature-focused experiences designed for travellers seeking private outdoor adventures.
At Fairmont Mayakoba in Mexico, Symphony in a Cenote – An Extraordinary Night, Carved in Stone and Sound takes guests into an ancient cenote beneath the tropical jungle.
The experience features a live musical performance enhanced by the natural acoustics of the underground environment. Handcrafted canapés and Champagne are included, creating a rare combination of nature, music and fine hospitality.
In Canada, Fairmont Tremblant has introduced Beyond the Slopes, a private skiing experience offering premium access to Mont-Tremblant.
The journey includes private Cadillac transfers between Montréal-Trudeau International Airport and Fairmont Tremblant, early mountain access through First Tracks with a private guide, and a private winter dome experience featuring Champagne and gourmet refreshments.
Guests also receive accommodation in the Presidential Suite, followed by a private in-suite dinner and breakfast at Le Comptoir.
These experiences demonstrate how luxury travel experiences are increasingly being shaped around exclusivity, personalisation and destination immersion.
The introduction of eight new experiences reinforces Fairmont Hotels & Resorts’ commitment to creating meaningful guest interactions across its international portfolio. Through cultural encounters, culinary discoveries, entertainment access and private adventures, the programme expands the definition of modern luxury hospitality.
The latest additions show how travellers are increasingly looking for experiences that combine comfort with authenticity. By introducing carefully designed exclusive hotel experiences across multiple destinations, Fairmont continues to develop its global offering around memorable and personalised stays.
