Nassau Paradise Island witnesses a record year in tourism

Today, the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board declared that it has attained complete revival from the pandemic impacts.


Year-end reporting disclosed that the eternally famous, the tourism of Bahamian destination finished out 2022 even better compared to 2019. Last year was its best performing year on record. Also, the NPIPB appeared quite confident that is on course for a banner year in 2023.


The main facts include:


• In 2022, average occupancy increased 23.2 percentage points. This was a rise to 65.2 percent from its 2021 level of 42 percent.
• Last year, room revenue exceeded 2021 levels by 112 percent.
• Now, average length of stay is approaching six nights, representing an increase between a half-day and a one-day.
• Last year, traveler visitation numbers increased 69 percent over 2021.
• All through December 2022, air arrivals came in at 90 percent of the levels of pre-pandemic times and air seats are by now rising in 2023, with the seat count in February to go up 15 percent over last year at an average of 5,358 seats per day.
• In comparison to the previous year, the total website referrals to NPIPB partner resorts have risen by 47 percent.
• For “The Bahamas”, web searches increased by 20 percent as searches for “Nassau” increased 41 percent from the end of 2021.

The rise in traffic volume to its website has enthused greater number of tourists to book trips to Nassau Paradise Island as well as stay at the partner resorts of NPIPB.
