NAVYA, an autonomous mobility systems leader, declares about the signing of a MoU with Red Sea Global, the developer accountable for some of the most striving regenerative tourism and construction projects of the world. THE RED SEA is being developed on Saudi Arabia’s north-western coast and is intended to turn into world’s one of the most sustainable destinations in the future.

THE RED SEA is all set to be a true model in terms of regenerative tourism. With an archipelago of over 90 remote islands, immaculate beaches, inactive volcanos, all-encompassing desert dunes, mountain canyons and historical cultural sites, it spreads over 28,000-square-kilometers. Less than one percent of the total area of the site is being expanded, with 75 percent of the islands of the destination being safeguarded for conservation. Besides, the entire destination will be run on 100% renewable energy.

Also, once fully operational, the destination will be carbon neutral. In this context, a mobility plan has been introduced, endorsing shared transport built on electric and hydrogen rolling bases, and developing autonomous mobility to make sure best user experience and transport competence.

By next year, THE RED SEA will be prepared to welcome its first guests. By 2030, it will be home to 50 hotels with almost 8,000 rooms, up to 1,000 residential properties and its own international airport. Red Sea Global has chosen Navya to help it on the development and execution of shared, electric, autonomous mobility solutions.
