The department has reported that complaints are often received from international organizations, tourism businesses, and foreign investors about the extensive waiting times they endure at the airport, particularly within the immigration procedures area. In an effort to enhance the airport’s immigration counter efficiency, the department has proposed the establishment of an exclusive line for business class passengers and foreign investors. Additionally, there’s a suggestion to introduce a priority service at these counters for those passengers willing to pay an additional fee.

In August of the previous year, the introduction of automatic immigration gates at the airport was a significant step towards time-saving for tourists. Despite this improvement, the city’s tourism authority continues to gather considerable feedback concerning tourists’ prolonged waiting periods to undergo immigration procedures.

To foster a positive image and elevate the quality of service for passengers at the airport, a recommendation was made for the People’s Committee to request the Immigration Department under the Ministry of Public Security and the Southern Airports Authority to contemplate a trial mechanism specifically aimed at prioritizing immigration procedures for business class passengers.

The department further recommended that operations be extended to accommodate night flights, responding to the growing demand. Moreover, there was a call for relevant entities to advance the application of technological solutions in the processes of entry, exit, visa issuance at border gates, and boarding procedures, with the goal of diminishing the waiting times experienced by tourists.
