Starting early in 2025, visitors will have even more convenience, as the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau introduces a direct booking feature on its official tourism website, outerbanks.org. This new capability will initially cover hotels, with other lodging types to follow, further streamlining the planning process for tourists.

A Wave of Boutique Hotel Openings in Manteo

The charming waterfront town of Manteo has emerged as a hub for boutique lodging, with three distinctive properties reshaping its accommodations.

Manteo and nearby Roanoke Island remain cultural and artistic havens, boasting attractions like the Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse, waterfront shopping, and a variety of restaurants catering to diverse culinary preferences.

Enhancements Across the Outer Banks

In Nags Head, the iconic Owen’s Hotel has been transformed into Mia’s Boutique Hotel, featuring three oceanfront buildings equipped with luxury suites and full kitchens. Further south, in Cape Hatteras, the Pamlico Station Edgecamp, designed by Jonathan Adler, opened in 2024. This boutique property offers a residential-style experience and has already garnered attention from Condé Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure.
