Tourists have affirmed once again their excitement for Rottnest Island as in the second half of 2022; we get to see record island visitation numbers.

In last year, the total visitation statistics bounced back to over 570,000 with intrastate and foreign tourists returning to Rottnest in huge numbers.

In summer, visitation records were broken. There were 119,554 tourists visiting the island in January 2023. This was up 24 per cent from January 2020.

Now, expressions of interest are being sought for skilled and competent operators to attract exhilarating new recreational businesses to the Island for the impending summers.

The EOI features exact calls for recreational purposes and activities related to water and experiences during 2023/24 summers from 1st November, along with offerings related to Aboriginal cultural tourism and commercial premises for recreational and retail businesses.

The opening on the new EOI follows the accomplishment of two businesses in Rottnest Island which were being recognised at the Australian Tourism Awards in Sydney.
