VisitScotland has collaborated with Welcome to Fife to promote the scenic towns and villages along the Fife Coastal Path in a significant feature within the top UK travel magazine, Wanderlust, and its related podcast, Wanderlust: Off the Page. The efforts are part of a broader initiative to boost visibility and attract tourists to this renowned region. The podcast includes discussions with travel writer Robin McKelvie and Sarah-Jane Latto, who is the head of conservation and engagement at Fife Coast and Countryside Trust, sharing insights into the attractions along the path.

The promotional campaign coincides with the anticipation of the new six-mile double-tracked line that will reconnect Cameron Bridge and Leven to the railway network after a 55-year hiatus. The reopening of this line on June 2, made possible by the Scottish Government-funded £116m Levenmouth Rail Link project, is expected to enhance tourism by providing new, sustainable transportation options for exploring the region.

Caroline Warburton, the destination development director at VisitScotland, remarked on the appeal of the Fife Coastal Path as an incredible walking adventure that offers spectacular coastal scenery and exceptional food and drink options, all accessible by public transport. She emphasized that the latest marketing campaign is a component of the national tourism strategy aimed at encouraging visitors to explore the regions of Scotland more sustainably. The launch of the Levenmouth rail line is eagerly anticipated, as it promises to not only improve transport links for local communities but also facilitate the development of new tourism experiences within the area.

Moira Henderson, who leads Welcome to Fife’s industry leadership group, highlighted the cultural significance of the region, noting that Fife’s coastline and beaches have historically inspired artists and writers. She mentioned local attractions such as the historic Wemyss Caves, Silverburn Park, and the charming village of Lower Largo, describing the area as brimming with hidden treasures and perfectly situated on the edge of the picturesque East Neuk.
