A new chapter in regional connectivity has opened as Air India Express introduced twice-daily services between Nagpur and Bengaluru. The move aims to strengthen travel access across Maharashtra while offering travellers smoother links through the airline’s largest domestic hub. The schedule has been positioned to support efficient movement for guests seeking domestic reach and onward international options.
The Nagpur–Bengaluru route began operations on 1 December 2025. Morning and evening departures were added in both directions, allowing convenient timing for connecting traffic. With this structure, travellers departing from Nagpur now gain one-stop access to a network that spans 29 domestic and seven international destinations through Bengaluru.

The new frequencies position Nagpur as an important point for central India travellers using Air India Express. The wider network from Bengaluru includes recently added links to Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Jodhpur, and Udaipur. International access has also grown, with routes available to Bangkok, Jeddah, Kuwait, and Riyadh.
Bengaluru remains one of the airline’s busiest operational centres. More than 530 weekly direct flights are handled there, supporting a varied flow of passenger traffic from different parts of the country. The Nagpur flights integrate into this pattern and provide a direct pathway for travellers seeking the convenience of a single transit point.

Operations within Maharashtra also continue to expand. More than 130 weekly direct flights operate from Mumbai and more than 90 from Pune. Additional routes from Navi Mumbai to Bengaluru and Delhi are set to begin from 25 December 2025. This network collectively improves mobility for passengers travelling between Maharashtra and major domestic centres.
The new flights support stronger access for travellers exploring major regions of India. With two daily services, passenger movement between central and southern India becomes easier and more predictable. Tourism itineraries often rely on dependable air corridor timings, and the Nagpur–Bengaluru route aligns with that need.

Tourists connecting through Bengaluru can reach multiple Indian destinations with a single stop, enabling smoother trip planning across states. International travellers arriving through Bengaluru also gain structured access to Nagpur and surrounding areas. The twin-daily schedule ensures flexibility for guests planning short stays, business visits, or longer journeys that begin or end in central India.
The presence of a broader network encourages multi-destination travel, which remains valuable for many visitors designing varied routes within the country. Air India Express’ network expansion supports this pattern by giving travellers consistent connections and predictable timings.
Tourists often prioritise routes that provide balanced timing, minimal transfers, and reliable connections. A twice-daily link offers a sense of freedom when shaping itineraries, as it enables early departures, late returns, and smoother multi-city plans. Travellers prefer when a hub provides structured pathways to several regions, and such routes typically encourage more frequent movement.
Reliable operations can influence how travellers design their trips. When an airline expands links in key cities, tourism patterns can gain stability, especially for passengers who explore multiple destinations. Access to onward routes may guide how long a visitor stays in certain regions or how they combine experiences across different parts of the country. These behaviours often shape travel planning and support predictable visitor flows.
Air India Express has introduced supporting campaigns to enhance travel engagement. A 15 percent fare discount was offered for flights to and from Dimapur until 15 December 2025 through a designated promotional code. Efforts to create awareness extended to themed installations at Dimapur Airport and at the Kisama Heritage Village festival site. Travellers also received the opportunity to participate in a social media activity by sharing destination images for a chance to win complimentary flights.
The airline’s new Boeing 737 8 cabins offer updated features designed for passenger comfort. Wider armrests, improved seat padding, and legroom ranging from 29 to 38 inches have been introduced. Additional amenities include in-seat USB charging and hot meal capability provided through in-cabin ovens. The redesigned interiors incorporate lighting associated with Boeing’s Sky Interior configuration, creating a more refined cabin atmosphere for travellers across the network.
The introduction of the Nagpur–Bengaluru service strengthens Air India Express’ presence in central India. The route connects travellers to a growing domestic and international network through a single hub. The addition of two daily flights supports movement for tourism, business, and transit passengers seeking consistent connectivity. With the continued expansion across Maharashtra and sustained growth in Bengaluru, the airline’s network provides travellers broader access to destinations across India and beyond.
