The United States will be hosting the Bocuse d’Or and Pastry World Cup for the first time in 2024, with New Orleans & Company as the proud host of the North and South American selections. These prestigious international culinary and pastry competitions will take place from June 11 to June 13, 2024, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, showcasing the culinary prowess of chefs and pastry artists from across the Americas.

In October 2024, Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour will make a three-night stop at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, marking it as one of the tour’s final destinations, following in the footsteps of the global musical icon Beyonce.

New Orleans is gearing up to host Super Bowl LIX at the Caesars Superdome in 2025, taking over from the Las Vegas Host Committee following the conclusion of Super Bowl LVIII in February.

The 2024 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, the city’s largest annual music event, is expanding to eight days, kicking off on Thursday, April 25. The festival will be divided into two four-day weekends, spanning April 25-28 and May 2-5, with The Rolling Stones headlining on Thursday, May 2.

In 2024, the Essence Festival of Culture will celebrate its 30th anniversary in New Orleans, featuring music performances, inspiring speakers, and discussions on topics such as gender, race, culture, and art.

Prospect 6 New Orleans, a citywide contemporary art triennial, offers a unique platform for artists from around the world to create art projects in various venues throughout New Orleans every three years.

New Orleans has been selected as the host city for IPW 2027 by the U.S. Travel Association, set to bring thousands of international travel buyers and journalists to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, promoting the United States as a top global travel destination.

Caesars Entertainment, Inc. is investing $435 million to transform and rebrand the Harrah’s Hotel and Casino, which will include a 340-room hotel tower expected to be completed by 2024. The project aims to elevate the city’s luxury offerings and includes the opening of Nobu Hotel New Orleans.

Hotel Freedia, a boutique nightclub/hotel, is slated to open in the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood in Spring 2024, offering five rooms and a blend of music, drinks, and outdoor pool space.

Copper Vine is expanding into Copper Vine Winepub & Inn, introducing a restaurant-first take on a traditional bed-and-breakfast, featuring 11 rooms and an expanded restaurant floor plan, with an anticipated opening in early 2024.

Restaurant R’evolution at the Royal Sonesta is undergoing a revitalization with a $1.5 million investment, infusing fresh ideas and creativity into its culinary offerings.

The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is undergoing a $557 million improvement plan, including the installation of an energy-efficient 1.9 million square foot roof by mid-2024 and renovations to various areas. Additionally, a new River District neighborhood development near the Convention Center aims to activate previously undeveloped riverfront land.

Common House, a modern social club, is scheduled to open in New Orleans in early summer 2024, offering a wide range of amenities and event spaces.

The Audubon Aquarium and Insectarium underwent a significant renovation and reopened in June 2023, becoming the world’s only aquarium and insectarium housed under one roof.

The Riverfront For All project, a collaborative effort between Audubon, New Orleans & Company, and the Morial Convention Center, aims to create one of the nation’s largest riverfront parks, transforming industrial wharves into 2.25 miles of open space.

The River District Neighborhood project, situated along the Mississippi River near the Convention Center, will feature dining, retail, housing, entertainment options, and Shell’s new office.

In the summer of 2024, Disney World and Disneyland will unveil “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure,” replacing the beloved Splash Mountain, inspired by “The Princess and the Frog.”

Late in 2023, the Dew Drop Inn Hotel and Lounge in Central City will reopen, boasting 17 hotel rooms, a live music venue, and a resort-style pool.

The National WWII Museum recently completed its Liberation Pavilion and dedicated the Col. Battle Barksdale Parade Ground in November 2023, marking the culmination of a $400 million expansion campaign.

New Orleans has garnered numerous awards and accolades, including being recognized as a “must-visit city” for 2024 getaways by the Good Housekeeping Institute, as well as receiving multiple awards for its culinary and meeting destinations. Notably, Chef EJ Lagassee was honored with the “New Talent of the Year Award 2024” by La Liste.
