A new stopover holiday campaign features soccer star David Beckham. The campaign has been unveiled by Qatar Tourism. It tells Beckham’s thrilling adventure around Qatar over 48 hours, and shows how Qatar can be a wonderful stopover halt for visitors.


From discovering the meandering spice markets of Souq Waqif, enjoying local street art, cooking tacos, camping in the desert and touring around Doha by motorbike, Beckham goes with local personalities for finding out a country of innumerable wonders.


Over 80 per cent of the global population lives within a six-hour flight from Qatar. Hence, it makes the destination an outstanding choice to turn a stopover into a mini break. With this new campaign, Qatar Tourism is looking to increase consciousness about the world’s best value stopover packages, which are being offered by Qatar Airways.


Akbar Al Baker, the Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive said that it is a pleasure to welcome Beckham to Qatar, where he has engrossed himself in the indigenous culture and directly experienced the warm generosity of the people. Al Baker said that it would inspire millions who pass through Qatar every year following in Beckham’s footsteps and build their own thrilling adventure and recollections. Beckham on his part said that Qatar has surprised him with an extensive range of experiences in just 48 hours, with warm and welcoming people.
