New Swiss International Air Lines flight routes to east Europe to boost tourism

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), the flag carrier of Switzerland, has officially commenced its inaugural flights LX1490 and LX1880, marking a significant expansion into Eastern Europe with new routes to Košice, Slovakia, and Cluj-Napoca, Romania. This strategic move not only enhances SWISS’s network but also opens new doors for travellers keen on exploring the rich cultural tapestry and scenic beauty of Eastern Europe.

The inaugural flight LX1490 to Košice took off from Zurich, symbolizing a bridge between Western and Eastern Europe, and offering passengers a direct link to Slovakia’s second-largest city. Known for its historical significance, vibrant cultural scene, and proximity to natural attractions, Košice stands out as a must-visit destination for those looking to delve into Slovakia’s heritage and natural landscapes.

Simultaneously, flight LX1880 made its maiden journey to Cluj-Napoca, one of Romania’s most important cultural and educational centers. As the largest city in Transylvania, Cluj-Napoca offers a blend of historical architecture, thriving arts scenes, and access to the picturesque landscapes of the Carpathian Mountains.
