New York, Orlando and Las Vegas are top three Thanksgiving destinations as per Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC).
ARC research is based n the ticket sales data from over 500,000 roundtrip itineraries for travel within the U.S. booked by travel agencies and OTAs. Many of the top 10 U.S. destinations feature warmer climates.
New York remains the No. 1 destination for Thanksgiving travel though there can be a small drop in percentage of travellers.
Orlando will see a rise of 7 per cent in travellers, while Las Vegas will see a 11 per cent rise.
In 2018, Los Angeles edged out Chicago to secure a fourth place. San Francisco moved up one spot to sixth, while Atlanta jumped from No. 10 last year to No. 7 this year. Dallas dropped from sixth to eighth, and Washington, D.C. dropped from eighth to ninth position. Miami made entry to top 10 Thanksgiving destination.
The 10 top Thanksgiving travel destinations in 2018 are – New York,Orlando, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Atlanta, Dallas, Washington, D.C. and Miami in the descending order.
Consumers paid an average of U.S. dollar 487 to travel for Thanksgiving, a two per cent increase from last year.
