Ngā Manu Nature Reserve grabs Silver Tourism Business Award

Everyone associated with Ngā Manu Nature Reserve is proud to receive the Silver Sustainable Tourism Business Award from Qualmark. It’s the official quality-assurance organization of New Zealand tourism.

This award identifies that Ngā Manu is mainly aimed on safeguarding what makes New Zealand exceptional and unique to the world, and is all devoted to safeguard their stunning natural environment, improving connections with their local communities, at the same time also delivering a quality, safe experience for all visitors.


Anna McKenzie Hawea, the Ngā Manu general manager, said that they are very happy to receive this award and appreciation. She added that this award a testament to all of their volunteers and staff members and shows the passion that the wider community has for the work that they render when it comes to education, conservation, and the community including giving the visitors a very special place where they can connect with nature.


Ngā Manu Nature Reserve is a wildlife sanctuary. It’s a walk-through bird aviaries, enclosures for the reptiles & unique native lowland swamp forest in the Kapiti Coast. A visit to Ngā Manu directly helps wildlife & conservation programs, as a non-profit charitable trust. Steven Dixon, Qualmark General Manager, said that the achievement of Ngā Manu Nature Reserves of a Qualmark Silver accreditation is a major acknowledgement in terms of their practices related to sustainability and staff dedication involved in ensuring the preservation of the native forests of New Zealand.
