Loews Hotels & Co has introduced Active Stays by Loews Hotels, a new wellness-focused initiative designed to help travellers maintain healthy routines while away from home. Developed in collaboration with fitness expert Makena Rae, the programme brings flexible, accessible and personalised movement experiences to Loews properties, allowing guests to prioritise well-being in a way that fits naturally into their travel plans.

Launching across the hotel portfolio during Self-Care Awareness Month, Active Stays by Loews Hotels reimagines the traditional hotel fitness experience by creating simple opportunities for guests to stay active throughout their journey. Whether travellers have a few minutes between business commitments, want to recover after a long flight, or prefer spending a morning exploring a destination through movement, the programme offers options that can easily adapt to different lifestyles and schedules.

Rather than focusing on intense workouts or fitness targets, the initiative follows a more personalised approach where movement is designed around each guest’s comfort, preferences and pace. The concept reflects the idea that wellness during travel should feel enjoyable and achievable, not like an additional responsibility.

The programme welcomes all types of travellers, from professionals seeking a refreshing break during busy trips to families looking for engaging activities they can enjoy together. By making movement more approachable and removing pressure around traditional exercise routines, Loews Hotels aims to create a more balanced travel experience where guests can support their physical and mental well-being throughout their stay.

At Loews Hotels, we’ve always believed hospitality is about enriching lives and creating moments of joy,” said Kristie Goshow, Chief Commercial Officer, Loews Hotels & Co. “Active Stays by Loews Hotels was created around a simple idea: movement, play, and wellness help us become happier, healthier versions of ourselves. Through our partnership with Makena Rae, we’ve developed experiences that inspire guests to embrace wellness in ways that feel achievable, enjoyable, and uniquely personal. Whether someone is starting a new wellness journey, staying consistent with an established routine, exploring a destination through movement, or simply taking time to reconnect with themselves through yoga, Active Stays makes it easier to feel good while away from home.”

Loews Hotels & Co is introducing a new approach to hotel wellness with the launch of Active Stays by Loews Hotels, an initiative designed to help travellers maintain their fitness, recovery and healthy lifestyle routines while away from home.

The launch follows growing evidence that modern travellers expect hotels to play a bigger role in supporting overall well-being. A Peloton survey conducted in March 2026 among more than 3,000 active travellers found that guests are increasingly looking for wellness-focused experiences that include exercise, better sleep, stress management and healthier food choices. The research revealed that 60% of travellers consider fitness facilities and wellness amenities as equally important or even more valuable than other hotel benefits.

This shift highlights how wellness has moved beyond being a luxury extra and has become an important factor influencing hotel selection, guest satisfaction and the overall travel experience. Active Stays by Loews Hotels has been developed to respond to this changing demand by creating simple, flexible and personalised wellness opportunities for every type of traveller.

The programme represents another step in Loews Hotels & Co’s ongoing focus on guest well-being, expanding on previous efforts to provide meaningful experiences that allow visitors to feel refreshed, balanced and energised during their stays.

Active Stays is built around two key elements: accessible movement options that allow guests to stay active in ways that suit their schedules, and recovery-focused experiences that encourage relaxation, balance and restoration throughout their journey.

Bringing Fitness Directly Into Guest Rooms

Understanding that many travellers may not have the time or desire to use traditional hotel fitness centres, Active Stays introduces a convenient in-room workout experience that allows guests to exercise whenever it fits their routine.

The programme features a collection of equipment-free digital workouts available through guest room televisions. Created in collaboration with fitness specialist Makena Rae, the series offers easy-to-follow sessions designed specifically for hotel environments.

The workout library includes short targeted exercises, mobility routines, bodyweight strength training and recovery-focused activities that require no additional equipment. Guests can choose from different options depending on their needs, whether they want to prepare for a busy business schedule, recover after a long journey or simply add movement into their day.

By bringing fitness directly into guest rooms, Loews aims to remove common barriers that prevent travellers from maintaining their routines while on the road.

Personalised Movement Experiences Inspired By Each Destination

Active Stays by Loews Hotels will also introduce destination-based activities that connect wellness with the unique character of each property and surrounding area.

At Loews Regency New York Hotel, guests can take part in the Run. Rest. Regency Marathon Package, created for travellers looking to combine fitness with a New York experience. The package includes daily food and beverage benefits, a specially designed Central Park running route, themed amenities and extended check-out options.

Visitors participating in marathon activities can enjoy specially prepared dining options before their run and recovery-focused experiences after completing their training. The hotel will also provide a dedicated runner essentials station during the weekend, helping guests prepare for their fitness journey.

At the end of their stay, guests will receive complimentary pickleball equipment, allowing them to continue their active lifestyle beyond the hotel.

Meanwhile, Live! by Loews – Arlington and Loews Arlington Hotel will support the city’s Walktober initiative during October, encouraging visitors and local residents to explore the destination through walking experiences.

Guests will have access to specially created walking maps featuring routes through major sports and entertainment locations, museums and scenic areas such as Mark Holtz Lake at Richard Greene Linear Park. The programme encourages travellers to discover Arlington while staying active.

At Loews Chicago Hotel, guests can experience a wellness-focused city exploration route inspired by the historic Route 66. The walking and jogging map begins at the hotel and guides visitors towards famous Chicago attractions, including Navy Pier and the official starting point of Route 66, while highlighting additional landmarks connected to the legendary route.

In Atlanta, Loews Atlanta Hotel is expanding its wellness offering through enhanced fitness and recovery experiences. Guests can access reformer Pilates sessions, strength and conditioning workouts and recovery treatments featuring contrast therapy, red light therapy and compression treatments.

These experiences allow travellers to combine movement, training and relaxation without needing to leave the hotel’s Midtown location.

Supporting Recovery Through Food And Wellness Choices

Active Stays is designed to support more than exercise by recognising that recovery and nutrition are equally important parts of a healthy travel routine.

Participating properties will introduce refreshed food and beverage options focused on hydration, protein-rich choices and convenient meals designed to support active lifestyles.

Guests will have access to healthier grab-and-go snacks, seasonal menu selections and wellness-focused options available through restaurants, lounges and in-room dining services.

These additions aim to make it easier for travellers to maintain balanced habits throughout their stay, whether they are attending meetings, exploring a destination or enjoying a leisure holiday.

The programme reflects the growing expectation that hotels should support the complete wellness journey, from physical activity and recovery to nutrition and relaxation.

A New Era Of Wellness Travel

The evolution of fitness travel has moved beyond traditional events such as marathon weekends or dedicated sports holidays. Today’s travellers increasingly want flexible wellness experiences that fit naturally into their everyday routines.

Active Stays by Loews Hotels responds to this change by offering inclusive options designed for a wide range of guests, including business travellers, families and leisure visitors.

Instead of creating a one-size-fits-all fitness programme, the initiative focuses on personal choice, allowing guests to decide how they want to move, recover and recharge during their stay.

Available across Loews Hotels & Co properties nationwide from 9 September, Active Stays represents the brand’s continued commitment to creating meaningful guest experiences that support healthier and more balanced travel.

The programme reflects a broader transformation within hospitality, where wellness is becoming an essential part of the guest experience rather than a separate service. As travellers continue to prioritise health and well-being, hotels that provide flexible and accessible wellness solutions are increasingly shaping the future of travel.
