Nha Trang sets global example in tourism drive

The forthcoming event, set to be hosted at April 2 Square and Thanh Nien Stadium, will feature participation from over 100 artists from across Vietnam as well as international artists from the U.S., Singapore, and the Republic of Korea (RoK). Its primary goal is to highlight the global diversity and appeal of jazz, engaging local and international audiences alike while promoting Nha Trang city as a vibrant and safe tourist destination.

In line with its tourism ambitions for the year, Khanh Hoa province anticipates generating tourism revenue of 40 trillion VND (approximately 1.58 billion USD) and aims to attract more than 9 million visitors, including 3 million from overseas. To achieve these targets, the province has planned an extensive array of cultural events and festivals for 2024, which are intended to draw more visitors and enhance the local tourism sector.

Among the scheduled activities, there will be a series of seminars in April dedicated to exploring the historical and cultural significance of Nha Trang, along with its socio-economic developments and commitments to green growth. Additionally, a Sea Tourism Fair is slated for June 13-16 at April 2 Square in Nha Trang. This event will feature 200 stalls showcasing tourism offerings, local cuisine, and specialty products from Khanh Hoa and other coastal provinces. The fair will also include tourism seminars, a street carnival, and various live performances, with expectations of attracting around 150,000 visitors.

Moreover, the province has plans to inaugurate an art light festival themed “Ever Glamour Nha Trang 2024”. This festival, set to occur every Saturday from June 29 to July 20 at Nha Trang Bay, will involve four teams from Vietnam, China, the RoK, and India. These teams will present drone performances under the themes “Hello Vietnam, Glorious Ocean, Stories of Heritage, and Glamor Nha Trang.”

These initiatives reflect Khanh Hoa’s strategic approach to leveraging cultural and entertainment events to boost tourism and present Nha Trang not only as a must-visit destination but also as an example of how cities can use cultural events to attract global tourists effectively.
