A travel agency in China said that the North Korean border will open again for tourist movement from mid-June.
This is expected to initiate a major alteration to the DPRK’s border closings owing to the pandemic.
Nonetheless, there is buzz that a looming North Korea reopening to China is also circulating in border regions in recent months. It is yet to be passed, said an earlier government official visiting Dandong.
The official said that the rumors spoke about a late March time limit that was hindered till April and then June.
The border is slated to reopen on June 10. The 5-6 day trip from a tour agency will encompass Pyongyang, Panmunjom, Mt. Myohyang and Kaesong, with the first dispatched group planned to leave on June 14.
The Weibo page of the tour agency said that it is centered in Dalian and it has posted numerous announcements on Chinese social media on April 25 and April 26, upholding routes costing between $430 (2,980 RMB) and $618 (4,280 RMB).
The multi-day tours comprise train travel in and out of the DPRK.
