OklahomaFor the second time in three days a stronger quake than magnitude 4.0 had been recorded on the northern portion of Oklahoma.
As per the U.S. Geological Survey, an earthquake of magnitude 4.1 had hit early Tuesday afternoon close to the town of Amorita. The local officials have added that no injuries or damage have been reported as a consequence of the quake.

But then, moderate damage was reported to homes and buildings after two magnitude – 4.2 temblors struck Sunday about 45 miles away near Breckenridge.

Those earthquakes were the strongest to hit Oklahoma ever since September.

The number of earthquakes in Oklahoma had risen of late with many of them associated to the underground injection of wastewater from oil and natural gas production. Regulators have ordered a few wells to be shut down.

Prior to the year 2009, Oklahoma had averaged one magnitude 3.0 earthquake a year.

The number escalated to 903 and such quakes in 2015 that declined to 304 last year.
