In a month typically marked by reduced seasonal demand, Norwegian has achieved robust traffic figures. To adapt to winter’s fluctuating demand, we made significant capacity adjustments, resulting in a commendable 82.3 percent load factor – a three-point increase from the previous November, according to Geir Karlsen, Norwegian’s CEO. November saw nearly all of our approximately 10,000 flights maintaining high regularity.

Despite a two percent decrease in passengers compared to November 2022, totaling 1,348,111, the reduction aligns with our scaled-down capacity during the low season. The capacity (ASK) of 2,004 million seat kilometers was a six percent decrease from the same period last year, while actual passenger traffic (RPK) reached 1,650 million seat kilometers. The airline operated an average of 66 aircraft in November, achieving a remarkable 99.9 percent regularity in scheduled flights. Punctuality remained strong, with 86.8 percent of flights departing within 15 minutes of the scheduled time.

Norwegian’s positive momentum continues, evident in the recent release of new routes for the 2024 summer season, featuring forty routes to novel destinations. The summer program unveiling, coupled with a successful sales campaign, garnered enthusiastic responses from Nordic travelers.

Geir Karlsen expressed optimism, stating, “At Norwegian, we observe sustained demand for air travel. Our customers seized the opportunities presented in our latest sales campaign, and the positive reception of our newly launched summer program indicates early flight planning for 2024 compared to the previous year.”

Anticipating a busy Christmas and New Year travel period, Norwegian remains well-prepared for the quieter winter trading season. Alongside capacity adjustments, the airline has secured favorable jet fuel hedges for the upcoming year.
