New York City Tourism + Conventions, the official destination marketing organization and convention and visitor’s bureau for the City of New York, has announced the re-launch of the NYC Travel Trade Academy featuring Hindi subtitles. This initiative is geared towards strengthening the city’s presence in crucial markets within India and increasing visibility in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The goal is to simplify the understanding and knowledge of New York City products among the Indian audience.
Makiko Matsuda Healy, Senior Vice President of Tourism Market Development at New York City Tourism + Conventions, expressed enthusiasm about the introduction of the Travel Trade Academy program with Hindi subtitles for the Indian market. She emphasized the importance of India as a significant and growing source of visitors for New York City. The program underscores the city’s commitment to providing training to industry partners, anticipating that the comprehensive information in the revamped Travel Trade Academy will enable the Indian travel trade to better meet the evolving demands of consumers seeking diverse and personalized NYC experiences.
The Travel Trade Academy is a tailored online training program designed to empower individuals in the tourism sector to comprehend the city and advocate for their clients, delivering the best tourism experience New York City has to offer. The self-guided online course comprises six modules, educating participants about must-see locations in each of the City’s five boroughs, covering various categories such as geography, attractions, parks, restaurants, and hotels.
Upon completion of each module, participants will undergo a brief quiz, leading to the issuance of a certificate and the prestigious title of “Destination Specialist of New York City.” Additionally, webinars provide language flexibility, with preferred language subtitles accessible via the CC button.
