NYCxDESIGN 2024 Features Harlem Design District in a Cultural Showcase

NYCxDESIGN, in partnership with aspire design and home magazine, is thrilled to announce the establishment of the Harlem Design District. This momentous event is scheduled for Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, as part of the distinguished NYCxDESIGN Festival.

Embracing Harlem’s energetic essence, the inaugural Aspire Design Tour Harlem will unfold along Malcolm X Blvd, stretching from 116th to 124th Street. Attendees can look forward to a variety of experiences including curated trolley tours, guided and AI-assisted self-guided walking tours, Klub Kart tours, performances, art showcases, community engagements, and cultural highlights. The historic HomeToHarlem townhouse, a beacon of architectural elegance with resident artists, will serve as a community hub offering a welcoming space for information and connection, inviting visitors to discover the richness of Harlem.

The tour draws profound inspiration from the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s, offering a deep dive into the area’s rich history and culture. As participants traverse the neighborhood, they will experience the enduring influence of figures such as Langston Hughes and Maya Angelou. The Harlem Design District aims to highlight a harmonious fusion of architecture, design, history, artisanship, and culture, underscoring Harlem’s vibrant contribution to the global design scene.
