Turkiye Reconnects With Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain as Turkish Airlines Restores Three Vital Middle East Routes, Unleashing a Powerful New Travel Revival Through Istanbul

A major step in the rebuilding of regional air travel is being taken by Turkish Airlines. Three more Middle East routes are being restored from Istanbul. Direct services to Dammam, Kuwait and Bahrain are being returned during July 2026. The phased restart is being delivered after several regional operations were temporarily suspended.
Greater travel choice is being created for passengers across Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain. Business journeys, family visits and leisure holidays are being supported by the returning flights. More international connections are also being made available through Istanbul Airport.
The wider Middle East network is being rebuilt carefully. Flights to Abu Dhabi and Dubai have already been restored. Additional capacity has also been introduced on routes serving Amman and Beirut. Through these changes, regional connectivity is being strengthened and confidence in international travel is being gradually renewed.
Dammam Flights Are Being Restarted on 10 July
The Istanbul to Dammam service is being resumed on 10 July 2026. Four return flights are being scheduled each week. The route is being operated under flight numbers TK150 and TK151.

A valuable travel bridge is being rebuilt through the return of this service. Demand can be created by business trips, family visits, shopping journeys, short holidays and international connecting travel. Easier access to Türkiye is also being restored for passengers based in Kuwait.
Istanbul can be reached early in the day through the planned timetable. As a result, onward connections may be accessed across a wide international network. Turkish destinations can also be reached through domestic connections from Istanbul.
Travel planning is being made simpler by the return of a direct service. The need for longer journeys through another hub can be reduced. However, schedules should still be checked before departure because regional operating conditions can be changed at short notice.
Bahrain Flights Are Being Restored on 16 July
The Istanbul to Bahrain route is being brought back on 16 July 2026. Four return flights are being scheduled each week. Services are being operated as TK778 and TK779.

TK778 is being scheduled to depart from Istanbul at 20:15. Arrival in Bahrain is being planned for 00:10 on the following day. The service is being offered on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
The return flight, TK779, is being scheduled to leave Bahrain at 01:15. Arrival in Istanbul is being planned for 05:30. Flights are being offered on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Tourism and commercial travel between Bahrain and Türkiye are expected to be supported by the restored route. Short breaks in Istanbul can be arranged more easily. International journeys through Istanbul Airport can also be planned with fewer complications.
Bahrain is used by both leisure and corporate travellers. Heritage attractions, seaside experiences, shopping areas and business centres are visited throughout the year. Through the restored flight, greater access to these experiences is being provided for travellers from Türkiye and the wider Turkish Airlines network.
Dubai Capacity Has Already Been Doubled
Operations between Istanbul and Dubai were restored on 9 June 2026. Capacity was then increased from seven to 14 return flights per week from 25 June.
A daily service was effectively turned into a twice-daily operation. Greater choice was therefore provided across different departure times. Short business trips and weekend travel were made easier. More connecting options through Istanbul were also created.

Dubai remains a major regional travel and aviation centre. Strong links are maintained with Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. By increasing the number of services, returning demand has been accommodated by Turkish Airlines.
The restored Dubai route has also been supported by the wider rebuilding of the Gulf network. Abu Dhabi has been reconnected, while Dammam, Kuwait and Bahrain are being returned through the July schedule.tes are being returned. Existing routes are being strengthened. More seats and departure choices are being placed into the market.
Family and Leisure Travel Will Be Supported
The returning routes are expected to carry a broad mix of passengers. Family travel is likely to be supported because large communities maintain personal links between Türkiye and the Middle East. Direct services can make those journeys shorter and less stressful.
Leisure travel can also be encouraged. Istanbul remains a major city-break destination. Its historic districts, waterfront areas, food culture and shopping options can be reached directly from Dammam, Kuwait and Bahrain.
Travel in the opposite direction is also being supported. Gulf holidays, cultural visits, shopping journeys and business events can be reached from Türkiye. Connections from other countries can be added through Istanbul.
Four weekly flights on each restored route provide regular access without creating a daily schedule. Demand can therefore be tested and managed during the first stage of the return.

A Wider Middle East Travel Recovery Is Being Shaped
The restoration of Dammam, Kuwait and Bahrain is being presented as more than a routine timetable change. A wider recovery in Middle East connectivity is being supported.
Three important markets are being returned to the Istanbul network within six days. Abu Dhabi has already been reconnected. Dubai capacity has been doubled. Additional flights have been supplied to Amman and Beirut.
Business movement can be improved through these services. Tourism flows can be encouraged. Family connections can be restored. International travellers can be given more one-stop options through Istanbul.
The restart is being managed through a phased plan. Capacity is being returned where operations can be supported. More choice is being created without the entire network being restored at once.
For Turkish Airlines, Istanbul is being strengthened as the central bridge between the Middle East and the rest of the world. For travellers, more direct journeys and easier connections are being brought back. A significant part of the regional travel map is therefore being reopened during July 2026.
