Oakland International Airport (OAK) is spreading the love this Valentine’s Day with several heartwarming initiatives for passengers. On February 14th, travelers can look forward to a special visit from the Canine Comfort Pet-Assisted Therapy team of Valley Humane Society. Five adorable dogs, adorned in charming Valentine’s Day attire, will join their dedicated volunteer owners to share some affection with East Bay travelers. Additionally, airport staff will be distributing Valentine’s cards to families traveling with children throughout the day. Plus, there’s a delightful Valentine’s Day balloon arch set up in pre-security Terminal 1, perfect for capturing festive photos.
Craig Simon, Interim Director of Aviation at the Port of Oakland, expressed anticipation for hosting Valley Humane Society on this special holiday, emphasizing the airport’s gratitude for the invaluable service provided by the Canine Comfort Pet-Assisted Therapy team.
Valley Humane Society, headquartered in Pleasanton, CA, enriches lives by bringing animals to places where traditional pets cannot go, spreading the unconditional love that pets offer. Their Canine Comfort Pet-Assisted Therapy volunteers, accompanied by their beloved dogs, make meaningful impacts by visiting medical facilities, schools, and retirement homes in the community.
This Valentine’s Day marks the inaugural visit of Valley Humane Society’s program to OAK, featuring five charming dogs—Peach, Bailey, Karli, Ketchum, and Torrie—alongside their devoted volunteer owners.
