Oman issues licenses for 19 new integrated tourism complexes

Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has issued 19 licences for the development of integrated tourism complexes in the governorates of Muscat, Dhofar, South Al Sharqiyah, South Al Batinah, and Musandam.


According to Oman News Agency, the projects would include 81 hotels with 16,576 hotel rooms, 2,552 apartment hotels and villas, and 42,617 dwelling units, as well as golf courses, harbours, restaurants, cafés, and stores.


The overall investment volume for complexes under construction is anticipated to be 4.38 billion Omani rials ($11.38 billion) and OMR3.12 billion for other licenced projects in the pre-construction phase.


Azzan Qasim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the government of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, stated that the government will ensure that these projects are completed within the agreed-upon dates.
